On Cloud nine

Hey all,

This is not my current manicure but one from last week that I didn't have time to edit. This is Color Club Cloud nine from the Halo Hues collection. It has a lilac base which is very pretty. It is a fair bit more noticeable when you put it next to a silver holo though but I'll show ye a comparison later on.

The formula on Cloud nine is amazing for a holographic polish. 2 easy coats without any dragging or bald spots. I was very surprised by this seeing as my only other experience of holographic nail polish was with Gosh Holographic.I have on the Sally Hansen Insta-dri topcoat which at first dulls the holographic effect but after a few minutes it does come back. Weird but true.

I would love to get more from this collection but the only way we can get color club here is on ebay and each bottle comes to about €9 each. Fairly expensive like. Someday I will get some more :P

If ye could recommend one holographic nail polish, what would it be?

  1. Beyond, Over the Moon, Miss Bliss, Kismet, Eternal Beauty, Angel Kiss, and Harp on It are some of my favorite holos from Color Club.... Actually I love all of both Halo Hues collections! They are so stunning and gorgeous. I got both sets for, I believe $90 USD, so $7.50 each, from justrica on Instagram, so you might check her out if you're wanting to get the others. Personally, I think all 12 are must-haves!

    1. I definitely agree with you after seeing all of the swatches. They are so so pretty!

  2. I love these the best. They're strong linear holos. CG OMG are good but you have to use special base and top coats and they chip easily so I prefer these from CC! Lovely mani.

    1. Thanks Kaki :) I didn't know you had to use a special base with the CG OMG polishes. That's fairly annoying :/

  3. It's a cute lilac holo cloud ;-) I only own two holographic polishes and both are from this years China Glaze Hologlam collection.

    1. Some are amazing and some are pure shite to be honest. I'd definitely check swatches before buying any but the Color club range of holo's is amazing

  5. Love Cloud Nine! If I had those two, I would try Cloud Nine over different polishes first, and see which color you still feel that you need. (1 coat, or as I read on Esmaltes da Kelly: drip one or a few drops of holo in water and dip your painted nails like water marbelling) Although I really like CC Kismet and CC Eternal Beauty, I think I would buy CC Beyond. If I could buy two, I would buy Eternal Beauty too. But I have only tried GOSH, some Halo Hues, and MUS Siw, but MUS is tested on animals.

    1. That's a shame that they test on animals :( I have to try that dripping technique! I'd say it would look really interesting on the nail. Thank you for the tips!

  6. The Color Clubs are the best by a mile, but the Born Pretty ones aren't actually bad at all. KIKO is watery & streaky, and the new GOSH one is diabolical. The Color Club one I have is Harp on it & it's brilliant, the Halo Hues are fantastic collections.

    1. I always wanted to try the Kiko's but watery polish is a pain and it would be ten times harder to apply a watery holo. I avoided the new GOSH like the plague. Not worth €8.50 when it chips almost instantly. I'm really impressed by the Halo hues collection. Definitely need to check out a few more in those sets x
