Oral-B 3D White Brilliance review

Hey all,

I know a lot of people are keen on getting their teeth whiter than they are naturally. I am definitely part of that group. I hate my teeth and everything about them but given the cost of surgery/ braces/ specialist work I'm stuck with what I have for now. The only thing I can work on is whitening them so I picked up the Oral B 3D white brilliance toothpaste to see if it would make much of a difference.

After finishing the tube I can honestly say this made absolutely no difference whatsoever to my teeth. They look exactly the same as they did when they started. It was a decent toothpaste but it is not worth buying in my opinion. I'm fairly disappointed by this given the claims it has of "whiter teeth on the front, back and visible surfaces between teeth". A tube of Oral-B 3D white brilliance costs €4.89 for a 75ml tube. Very expensive for something that doesn't work.

  1. Aw sorry to hear about this one :(
I've been using the Crest 3D whitening toothpaste with Arm and Hammer's Whitening Booster (i just came across it on Ebay and Amazon) and it's a gel that you add to your toothpaste while you brush and after a few weeks I saw a difference in my teeth. It doesn't make them super white, but I found that it made my teeth a few shades lighter :)

    1. Oh that actually sounds perfect. I'll keep an eye out for the arm and hammer now. Thanks for that!

  2. I'm really conscious of my teeth and I have to say I've never yet found a single toothpaste that works at all - apart from Blanx. It's very expensive, I think nearly €7 from what I remember, but it genuinely does lift stains. It's just that though - it lifts stains, it doesn't whiten. I can't get them professionally whitened because I've a front crown, absolutely hate them! x

    1. It's a nightmare trying to find something that actually does what it claims. I know you can get whitening kits from the dentist to do at home but they are well over the €100 mark and I have no idea what the lasting power is like. Crazy how expensive it is just to try and get your teeth a bit whiter! x

  3. Ya know what is cheap and works the best? Mix a little hydrogen peroxide with some baking soda powder... it will make a paste. Then brush your teeth with that. I guess you don't want to do it too often, since baking soda can be harsh on tooth enamel... but it helped me keep my nicotine stains to a minimum in between dental cleanings.

  4. You know what's really weird? In the States, we have the EXACT SAME toothpaste (like the design and logo, etc.) but it's for Crest...not sure if the companies are related but that's what struck me as funny.

    1. That is actually really interesting. I gave it a quick google and they seem to have been merged into one! I would never have known that.
